The Dead Rising series can be a lot of fun, there is no denying that. Do you want to know what would make it a lot more fun? How about removing the time limit imposed and players and letting gamers just toy around in the massive, zombie-filled environments? Well, Capcom is about to do just that in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.

The stand-alone expansion for last year's Dead Rising 2 hits shelves on October 11, 2011 at a discounted price of $39.99. Capcom has announced that the new installment will allow players to do the one thing that they have wanted with the series more than anything else: just play. The new game will include a new Sandbox mode, which will remove the time limits all together and let you just "have fun".

The new mode for the game was revealed at PAX Prime out in Seattle, which runs through the end of the weekend. The new mode will also incorporate a variety of challenges which can be triggered in different areas, adding a bit of challenge to your experience.
