Anyone can play the race card, as evidenced by the aftermath of this early Sunday morning confrontation between a white 29-year-old leather accessories designer and the four black men who allegedly jumped and robbed him. Jason Fordell, visible in the photograph above, was taking the 4 train when the incident occurred.
Fordell claims that his attackers used racial epithets against him as they attacked. Fordell also alleges that a random onlooker joined that attack, unprompted.
The police and MTA are investigating, but there's no word if this will be classified as a hate crime.
If only some passenger with a cellphone had recorded the fight. Then we might be able to know for sure.
