Video: Efren Ramirez Says "Crank 3" Will Happen With Or Without Jason Statham

It's all quite vague at the moment, but we think we'd rather not have a Crank 3 than have it Statham-less.

After getting a good response from the San Diego Comic-Con directing duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have switched subjects to the third installment of the Crank series. In all honesty, the first flick deserves its rightful place as the perfect double bill with the Clive Owen-starrer Shoot 'Em Up

The above video finds Efren Ramirez, who appeared in the first two films, adamantly boasting that Crank 3 would go ahead, come what may. Speaking with MovieWeb, Ramirez confirmed the plan by saying, "Mark and Brian... are possibly talking about Crank 3. Either a Crank 3 going forward with Jason Statham, or going back with a prequel."

Since Neveldine/Taylor are currently putting the finishing touches to Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, which is due out early next year, it's still unclear whether they'd return to the director's chairs for Crank 3.

Whichever way the wind blows with this project, Crank 3 is slated to come to theaters in 2012.
