We didn't think the Guinness Book of World Records could hand out awards for anything more arbitrary than fitting the most people into a Smart Car, or for sitting in a bathtub with the most rattlesnakes, but we were wrong.

The good folks at Guinness this week announced a new entrant into their book of world records: Eduard Saakashvii. The 15-year-old son of Georgian president Mikeil Saakashvii now holds the record for the fastest typing speed on an Apple iPad.

Eduard was able to type the English alphabet on an iPad in 5.26 seconds, besting the former title holder, Charlie Joseph McDonnell by 1.05 seconds. The fact that another person previously held the record is in itself astonishing. Who wants to set the record for fastest typer on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
