Samsung has announced that the successor to the original line of Galaxy S phones will be arriving on US shores this August. The phone, which features a 1.2 ghz dual core processor, 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display and 8 megapixel camera, is already a hit in South Korea and Europe.
Samsung's president of mobile indicated the four major US carriers will offer distinct variations on the phone, similar to the cross-carrier rollout of the Galaxy S last year. It's rumored that Sprint's version will be known as the "Within," Verizon's as the "Function" and AT&T's as the "Attain."
In the fall the new phones will likely be going head to head with Apple's iPhone 5, which is also rumored to be getting a simultaneous release on multiple carriers.
