Frankly, without blood, Twisted Metal would feel a bit weird.

Can you actually believe that a game which allows you to play as a psychotic clown was actually gunning for a teen rating? Creator David Jaffe and the development team at Eat, Sleep, Play were hoping to reach a broader audience with the ESRB ranking. Fortunately enough for us and our badass bredren, they're embracing the mature style, and keeping Sweet Tooth is his sadistic glory.

Anyone who attended last week's Comic-Con in San Diego saw the sneak peek video introducing the sinister Needles Kane. You can surely bet your bottom dollar that "there will be blood" to welcome the iconic killer clown back to the masses. The PlayStation 3 exclusive title is on-hand to be the entertaining, gory adventure that it was destined to be.

Twisted Metal runs over stores on October 4.
