"Jersey Shore" Star Pauly D Accused of Name-Stealing

We suggest they solve this matter with a fist-pumping competition.

None

Unless you've lived under a soundproof rock for the past couple of years, you know very well who Pauly D and the rest of the Jersey Shore gang is. This doesn't seem to be a problem to many, but to Conneticut-based Paul Lis, otherwise known as DJ Paulie, it's apparently a big one.

See, even though the spelling of their names is different, lots of people have been getting DJ Paulie mixed up with our boy Pauly D, who, apart from starring on Jersey Shore, is a DJ as well. So, Lis is suing Pauly D for trademark infringement.

"I've prided myself in being G-rated," Lis told the Hartford Courant. "Jersey Shore is hardly family entertainment. The show is hurting my business. It's ruining my reputation. I've even had death threats." Lis went on to explain that Pauly D now holds a sort of monopoly in Google, and no one can find his site in the throngs of web pages promoting Pauly D.

This isn't the first time Pauly D and DJ Paulie have faced off, though. In 2003, Pauly D apparently tried to trademark his name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, but his request was denied as DJ Paulie already owned the rights to his name and it was too similar.

Since all DJ Paulie wants is his name back, we suggest that the two face off in a fist-pumping competition—winner takes all. Then they could air it on MTV and it'd be an insta-hit. Genius?
