At Sony's big E3 conference yesterday, the company formally unveiled the next in its line of handheld gaming devices. Codenamed the Sony NGP (for Next Generation Portable), the successor to the PSP will actually be known as the "PlayStation Vita." The device features a 5 inch multi-touch screen, two analog joysticks, an interesting touch panel on the back side and comes in both wifi and 3G models. It retails for $249 for wifi, and $50 bucks more for 3G connectivity. Sony hasn't announced a release date yet, but expect it to hit stores by the holiday season. Full press release below.
