How the mighty have fallen. CBS moved CSI off its Thursday night-at-9 perch for the fall, and now the show is forced with finding a new male lead as well. Laurence Fishburne has left the procedural after two-and-a-half seasons. The star's contract was up and he decided not to renew.
Of course that begs the question: Laurence Fishburne was on CSI? He was; the Matrix star replaced William Petersen, but CBS wasn't planning on Fisburne being in for the long haul.
"Nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years, it's Laurence Fishburne," an insider told Deadline. No word yet on who will replace Fishburne.
