Live from Toyko, it's Saturday Night? Apparently. Saturday Night Live JPN is the third adaptation of Saturday Night Live to make waves outside the United States. The planned series follows in the footsteps of Italy and Spain.

Premiering on Saturday, the Japanese version of SNL will be a lot like the real version of SNL... only in Japanese. "Saturday Night Live is known for cultivating premier comedic talent in the U.S., and we plan to carry on the tradition by bringing the newest, best comedians to Saturday Night Live JPN to accompany top name celebrities and musical acts," said Yoshimoto Entertainment USA CEO Aki Yorihiro in a statement.

No truth to the rumor that David Spade begged to be a part of the inaugural cast.
