If you want to get highbrow in Austin this Sunday afternoon, this is one way to do it. Sergei Eisenstein's 1925 silent film is still one of the most influential movies in history, a black-and-white tale of revolution set in 1905 Ukraine. Homages to the famous battle montage have been popping up in the work of numerous directors for the past century. And Graham Reynolds was just awarded best film score of the last decade by online film magazine Cinema Retro for his work on Richard Linklater's adaptation of Philip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly. Reynolds, an Austin-based composer and bandleader, will be conducting a live score to accompany Eisenstein's legendary work.—Finn Cohen
