Update: It looks like that tweet was kinda true. TVLine confirms that Justin Timberlake will host the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 21 with musical guest Lady Gaga. Set the DVR now.
Sometimes Twitter is nothing but trouble. Take the now-deleted tweet that was sent out from the official Saturday Night Live account late Tuesday afternoon that may have revealed Justin Timberlake will host the show on May 14.
In response to a fan wondering if the May 7 show with Tina Fey was the finale, someone manning the SNL account wrote that they had "Timberlake after that!" Whoops. That caused a firestorm around the social networking site and the web, and was taken down almost as quick as it went up.
SNL reps wouldn't comment on the matter to TVLine, other than to say that Timberlake may show up in one of the final three episodes. For those keeping score at home, an earlier rumor said that Timberlake would host the SNL finale with Lady Gaga as musical guest.
