If you’ve been pondering the purchase of a Wii—STOP! Also, collaborate and listen. Nintendo may be slashing $50 off the price of the aging console as early as May 15. In addition, rumor has it that Mario Kart Wii will be included in the bundle. This could be in reaction to Nintendo’s sagging sales and lower console projections...or we could don our tinfoil hats and speculate (along with the rest of the gaming world) that Nintendo is getting ready to reveal a new HD Wii console at E3 in June. Rumors have been guessing that the next incarnation of the Wii will have built-in Blu-ray, support 1080p games and movies, and include an HD output port. Our one hope is that Nintendo doesn’t come out and name the new console “Wii Tuu,” because that would just suck. [via Engadget]
