"The Dark Knight" Heads To Pittsburgh For Filming

Batman is going black and yellow.

Christopher Nolan's paranoia has seemingly subsided as the Pittsburgh Post Gazette confirms rumors that The Dark Knight Rises will shoot in its fair city later this summmer.

"Pittsburgh is a beautiful city," Nolan says, giving us our first truly reliable report on where the movie will shoot. "We have been able to find everything we were looking for here and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman."

There's no word as to how much of the film will be shot there, or if the city will be the "new" Gotham City. But with four to six weeks of location work scheduled, it looks like Steel City will be associated with this Batman series. Someone call Wiz to the set!

The anticipated film spectacle starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
