As you might've guessed from our most recent sandwich of the week, we're fans of vegetarian and vegan eats at the City Guide. If our description of the Genereal Tso's Tofu sub set your mouth to watering, we've got an event that might explode your head.

The First Annual NYC Vegetarian Food Festival is this Sunday and most importantly it's free. Free admission, free samples. The list of participating vendors is too long to get into, but please believe that whether you're looking for meat substitutes, veggie-only dishes, or sweets, you'll find no possibility left unexplored.

In addition to the free food, there will be a series of lectures on things like "Vegan Parenting."

All right, so maybe you shouldn't be excited about everything. What is is about current trends like this having to be as obnoxious as possible? "Vegan Parenting." Anyway, we'll be too stuffed with seitan to worry about raising hypothetical kids. Still, we'd just like to say that if you had to nominate one child in a school for most likely to be harassed, there's a good chance it will be the child spawned by the first couple in line for "Vegan Parenting."
