Arrowhead Game Studios put themselves on the gaming map earlier this year when they released the downloadable Magicka, which went on to sell more than 200,000 copies in the first 17 days of release, far exceeding the tiny developer’s expectations. After the initial success, the publisher (Paradox Interactive) allowed the Arrowhead devs to take a risk with its upcoming DLC for the game—and we got Magicka Vietnam. The expansion allows players to take their robed menaces into the jungles to fight an army of goblin-cong in a quirky mash-up of medieval sorcery and guerilla warfare. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt elegantly explains why they decided on this direction: “It's so much fun being a wizard, and shooting stuff with an M60." It’s hard to disagree with that logic. Look for Magicka Vietnam sometime this spring, and enjoy the trailer (and its weird Swedish rock cover song) below.  [via IGN]
