It’s standard fare these days for a rapper to have multiple pots on the stove, so to speak — guest appearances, mixtapes, festival circuits, record deals, etc. So while Lil’ Wayne was in jail, Wiz Khalifa apparently got some memo that he needed to fill the void created by Mr. Carter’s absence. Over the past year, he has released two mixtapes, appeared on others by artists like Rick Ross, Curren$y, and Wale, toured the country with Yelawolf, signed a deal with Atlantic Records, and gotten himself arrested for having two ounces of weed on his tour bus in North Carolina. He returns to the scene of the crime, so to speak, by stopping in Charlotte Saturday, March 5.-Finn Cohen
