Facebook To Start Offering Digital Movie Rentals

Netflix, Amazon, and iTunes have some new competition.

None

For better or worse, no one can say Warner Brothers isn't trying to embrace the digital revolution.

First, the Hollywood studio began selling its movies through the Apple's App Store, now it's partnering with Facebook to rent movies through to the social network.

The first movie up: The Dark Knight. In order to rent the flick, users will need to throw down 30 Facebook credits, or $3. They'll then have 48 hours from the point of purchase to watch the movie.

Of course, this will put Facebook in competition with Netflix, Amazon, Apple, and a host of other companies that have recently entered the streaming movie market.
