Arthouse Alert: Screening of "Straight to Hell" with Q&A from Alex Cox & Jim Jarmusch

The two auteurs discuss Cox's punk western after this special New York screening.

Though Repo Man hogs the attention, Straight to Hell is just as exciting a cult film from the quintessential punk director, Alex Cox. Boasting a ridiculous cast (Joe Strummer, Jim Jarmusch, Courtney Love, Dennis Hopper, Grace Jones, Elvis Costello, and more), Straight to Hell remains one of the strangest westerns ever. The plot, so to speak, details the journey of three hitmen who wind up in a Mexican town populated by a variety of grotesques. This is one of the few cult films that has yet to be appropriated by the mainstream, and the opportunity to watch it and then listen to Cox and Jarmusch talk about it is too good to pass up.
