Video Game Music Wins Grammy, Confuses Thousands

A song from "Civilization IV" pops gaming's music-award cherry.

Congratulations to Christopher Tin, who won a Grammy yesterday for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) for the composition "Baba Yetu"—a song that just so happens to be the theme song to 2009's Civilization IV (the soundtrack came out just in time to sneak into the award show's eligibiity window). It's no "Theme to Ms. Pac-Man," but it'll do! You can check the song's official video here.
