That the warped mind of David Lynch was allowed to make a primetime soap opera on network TV will never really make sense. Certainly nothing like it will ever happen again. But for two seasons ABC let Lynch into homes everywhere with his exploration of—surprise—rot beneath the facade of a small town in the Pacific Northwest. The bizarre murder of Laura Palmer, the favorite daughter of Twin Peaks, sets the series into motion. She's found wrapped in plastic. We're telling you this so you'll have conversation starters for Laura Palmer's Prom at Veronica Peoples Club in Greenpoint, a DJ night aiming to capture the mood of Lynch's series. Musically, expect everything from sickly ambient to slick doo-wop. In addition to the Twin Peaks episodes playing continuously, there will be an open bar from 10:00 to 10:30 p.m. Bring someone who loves good cherry pie.
