Starting in May, Marvel will launch their new “Big Shots” initiative, which will see some of the biggest creative teams in comics tackling all new re-launches of classic Marvel characters.

“Fans are going to love what we have in store with Big Shots,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso in a press release. “We’re taking some of the best Marvel characters that we all know and love and sending them in a brand new direction with some Grade A talent. We want to reach a whole new set of readers while at the same time appeal to long time fans of these great heroes and Big Shots is how we’re doing it.”

The first character to receive the “Big Shots” treatment will be Moon Knight, starting in May with Moon Knight #1. With the superstar creative team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev on board for the book, Marvel is hoping that this will finally be the Moon Knight title that fans will flock towards. Comic heads should know Bendis and Maleev best from their successful tenure on Daredevil, a run that lasted from 2001-2006 with very few interruptions. The two have also worked together on Spider-Woman, Halo: Uprising, and Scarlet.

Marvel also announced that the other two books to receive the “Big Shot” treatment will be Punisher in June and Daredevil in July. Both books will re-launch with issue #1, but Marvel didn’t announce the creative teams behind either yet. Speculate away, fans.
