After racking up ten million hits with last year's Mortal Kombat: Rebirth Internet-only short, Warner Premiere is now prepping something even bigger. The company has announced that a new Mortal Kombat web series is in the works. Michael Jai White is already on-board to reprising his role as Major Jackson "Jax" Briggs, along with sexy Star Trek: Voyager star Jeri Ryan, who'll once again play Sonya Blade.

Bringing your favorite MK fighters into the real world, the digital series will give Jax and Sonya regular jobs as a police captain and his partner, respectively, and turn Deacon City into a bizarro-Gotham with villains running amuck. The new series will also co-star Darren Shahlavi (300) as Kano, and provide new back stories for icons like Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion.

The series is currently shooting in Vancouver—with the original short's director, Kevin Tancharoen, returning—and debuts online in the spring. If you still haven't seen Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, give it a look below.
