Nintendo 3DS vs. Sony PSP2...Round 1...FIGHT! Some details are starting to leak out of Japan regarding the still-officially-unannounced PlayStation Portable 2. It will supposedly feature a built-in 3G connection (no word on U.S. carriers) and support wireless LAN gameplay. The console will also sport a OLED touchscreen and a new processor for handling high-resolution graphics. Let the next-gen handheld console wars commence!
However, the device will not be a phone, presumably so it doesn’t compete with the PlayStation-branded phone that's been making a splash around the internets recently. We don’t have any pricing or release date information at this point, or even what the thing looks like (the image above is one of the countless "concepts" of the handheld), but Sony is expected to unveil further details at a Tokyo press conference on Thursday. Check back as things continue to solidify, and in the meantime sew an extra pocket into your clothes so that you have space for your iPhone, 3DS, Kindle, and PSP2 without sacrificing any of the microwave emissions that are irradiating your balls into gruel as we speak.
