What does the best rapper alive do after releasing the highest-selling album, rap or otherwise, of 2008? Why, channel of simple guitar chord sensibilities of late '90s punk rock outfits like Green Day and Blink 182, of course. Wayne took the teen angst angle and added a dose of his own varied rap style, for the semi-awkward, oddly received rock album, Rebirth. Critical reviews were mixed, but the album sold surprisingly given it's lack of promotion and leak one month in advance. Everyone knows Tha Carter IV is the real album to look out for, but Rebirth was a pretty ballsy move to pull off in the meantime.
