Blaxploitation movies are some of our favorites, but unfortunately, the genre doesn't have much to offer outside of the cult classics created in the '70s. Luckily for us and the rest of the genre's followers, there's a good chance that the multi-decade drought of dope blaxpoitation flicks will come to an end when Black Dynamite hits theaters on October 16. The film, a collaborative effort between writer/star Michael Jai White and writer/director Scott Sanders, appears completely self-aware of the genre's clichés and general tendencies, which is great for viewers in search of something authentic. We hope this gives the blaxpoitation genre a much-needed boost; it's definitely been long enough, but we won't find out for sure until next month.
