MacGruber Must Be Stopped: 10 SNL Movies We'd Actually Watch

These are Complex's top ten SNL skits that would be cinematic sure shots.

We doubt MacGruber will be able to get out of the mess that will be his movie.

It's official: MacGruber is set to be the first Saturday Night Live character to get a movie adaptation since Tim Meadows' The Ladies Man flopped in the box office nearly a decade ago. Will Forte's cinematic spoof of the non-violent, survivalist MacGyver character is still a ways away, but we're already cringing in anticipation. It's not that we don't love to see good SNL skits turned into feature length films (see: The Blues Brothers and Wayne's World), it's just that most of the time five minutes of funny doesn't stretch into 90 minutes of hilarity. More importantly, a lot of these skits weren't that hilarious to begin with (cough, A Night at the Roxbury, cough-cough, Superstar, cough).

To be honest, we haven't watched SNL live on the boob tube since we discovered how much more entertaining vagina is on a Saturday night, but if we're gonna have to see more sketch characters given the Hollywood treatment, we're confident we can pick far superior ones. Not only could we make some bangin' movies, but we also might save a few careers in the process (you're welcome, Eddie Murphy).
