Although it wasn’t the most obvious reference, Lil Wayne fans watching Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention last night might have picked up on a subtle Weezy reference that may or may not have been intentional. Hillary said, “After all, when there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit.”
“Sky is the Limit” is one of Lil Wayne’s best mixtape tracks, from the acclaimed Da Drought 3 mixtape, and No Ceilings was another standout Lil Wayne mixtape.
TMZ caught up with Wayne to ask him about it, and he wasn’t aware of the reference, but he seemed pretty excited to hear the news. He hasn’t met Hillary before, but he was happy that she used his lyrics in a speech: “Yeah, I fucks with Hillary.”
Of course, Hillary could also be referencing our No Ceilings concert series.
