"I've always loved KRS-One and on this song he was just kicking so much truth in his verses. It was like he was entertaining, and educating you at the same time and it was real. Some of what he says in this song is even relevant for today's music scene. This dude really had an influence on me and my music."

"I was introduced to the real Ice-T through this song. This was the first gangster rap story I've ever heard. This song defines the every day life of a true gangster. And he did it in the most realest form."

"To me, this is a song that really defines the passion and soulfulness of R&B. When R&B artists were really creative and expressing true emotions and every day life of love."

"I first learned this song when I was in the sixth grade, and I was in the school choir. Being that my family was going through hardships at the time it would really ease my mind when I would hear the words "things are going to get easier." Really helped me at a young age to maintain."

"One of the greatest story raps of all times. This storyline was insane! It definitely inspired me to be creative and to show versatility when making music."

"I think I've always like this song from the first time I heard it. I used to only like it because his voice sounded funny but when I got older and started listening more to the words, I thought it was pretty clever the way he mentioned some of the simple things in world and to overshadow this crazy insane world we live in."

"I love this song because it can be a day starter, a day booster, and a great anthem. This song is very relaxing and even on a bad day it can pick me up."
