It has been four years since we’ve had the excitement of a Spoon album upon us, and now it’s only a matter of months. The famed American rock band is returning once again, delivering a follow up to their 2010 album, Transference. Their latest project is titled They Want My Soul, and after debuting three new songs on NPR over the weekend, Spoon releases the lead single “R.I.P. – (Rent I Pay)” through an “unofficial” music video.
The highly anticipated album will be the band’s eighth, and will be released August 5 through Loma Vista Records. Listen to the song, and check out Daniel’s silhouette busting out some classic moves in the video below.
