According to the report, Tha Dogg Pound rapper Daz Dillinger, who produced the song “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” that was featured in the trailer, claims he holds rights to the single. Music publishing house BMG objects to this claim, saying that it owns the rights. This conflict would push the release date from September—the 20th anniversary of Shakur’s death—to November.

Daz, however, has responded to TMZ’s report Instagram, suggesting that that the film will not be delayed and even gives the film’s director Benny Boom and L.T. Hutton of Morgan Creek Productions (the film company behind the biopic) a shoutout.

Hutton then reposted Dillinger’s video to his own Instagram, confirming that everything is “all good.”

In April, Dilinger sued BMG for more than $75,000 in unpaid royalties. He is also currently working on a film titled DPG 4 Life, which will tell the story of Tha Dogg Pound.
