Google Street View is both awesome and weirdly invasive. You can see detailed images of specific locations, immortalizing those places you search for. In a sense, some album covers, like The Beatles’ Abbey Road, have been doing that long before the little Google car started to drive around and creepily take photos of the city (and people). These albums have turned the places on their covers into landmarks.

If you’ve ever been curious about where exactly the Paul’s Boutique that appears on the cover of Beastie Boys’ album of the same name is, The Guardian has found it, and a number of other covers that have specific locations, on Google Street View.

See what the surrounding areas from the covers of Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, Oasis’ What’s the Story (Morning Glory)?, and of course, The Beatles’ Abbey Road looks like today in the gallery above. Check out the rest over at The Guardian.
