Marvel Reveals More Hip-Hop Variant Covers Featuring Nas, Dr. Dre & More
These new variant covers are incredible.
Marvel Comics has been graduallyrevealing their latest series of hip-hop variant covers over the past few months inspired by such acts as The Pharcyde, Public Enemy, Lil Wayne, Wu-Tang Clan, Chance The Rapper, and many more. There are many parallels between the hip-hop and comic book world, as Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso previously pointed out to Playboy, and this series really brings that "common narrative" to life.
For their latest roll-out, Marvel seeks inspiration from Dr. Dre's Compton (for Black Panther: World of Wakanda #1), Nas' Life is Good (for The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1), Prodigy and Alchemist'sAlbert Einstein (for Venom #1), and Missy Elliott's Under Construction (for Invincible Iron Man #1). The artwork was exclusively debuted on Billboard.
