Listen to Jon Waltz's Reflective New Song "Riot"
"Riot" is Waltz at his smoothest.

It's been a while since we last heard from Jon Waltz with "Justified," but the Memphis rapper has carefully used that time to create some beautifully smooth new music. Premiered earlier today on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show and shared exclusively through The FADER, "Riot" sees Waltz at his smoothest, his warm voice laying down some of his most thoughtful lyrics yet.
"'Riot' started as a song about rich kids in Calabasas—affluent minorities conscious about being affluent minorities—and then turned into a song about generational values and internal conflict," Waltz told The FADER about how "Riot" came together. "It's about who I was five years go versus who I am today. I had a moment last week where I said to myself, This really sounds like the song I needed to hear when I was younger."
"Riot" is Jon Waltz's first offering from his first full-length album, which he's been working hard on for almost two years. Judging by the sound of this new single, Waltz's forthcoming album is already shaping up to be a very special one.
