As FKA twigs continues to explore creative outlets other than music, the artist has announced that she will be hosting the world premiere of her film, Soundtrack 7, according to Brooklyn Vegan. The screening will also include a self-directed short film that features songs from last year’s M3LL155X EP.
Soundtrack 7 is a 52-minute film cut down from seven separate self-directed films of FKA twigs’ week-long residency at the Manchester International Festival. Her seven original live performances drew on autobiographical themes and were set to twigs’ own tracks, such as “Ultraviolet,” “How’s That,” and “Good to Love.”
Last night, twigs held a free five-hour dance workshop in Baltimore ahead of her performance tonight with Travis Scott at Pier Six Pavilion.
Soundtrack 7, which FKA twigs describes as “flesh, sweat, feeling, muscle, and a live movement, no air brushing, no frills,” will premiere on August 3 at Brooklyn’s BAM Rose Cinemas. Purchase tickets for the film premiere here, and take a look at some footage from her dance workshop below.
