Desiigner Performs "Zombie Walk," Shares Story of How Song Got Its Name

The rapper also touches on how he met Kanye West.

Desiigner hasn't shown any signs of slowing down since releasing his debut mixtape New English back in June, further making a name for himself as one of the most energetic live performers in the game right now. For 88rising's new Good Fortunes segment, the Brooklyn native brought New English highlight "Zombie Walk" to life, with no shortage of dabbing.

Speaking about how the song came about, Desiigner revealed a surprisingly heartwarming story of its origins. "Zombie Walk" was named as such in honor of his friend—who's also featured on the song—King Savage.

"'Zombie Walk,' that's actually a song... my friend, who's on the feature, named King Savage, he's handicapped," Desiigner explained. "He walks a little funny. So when I made the song, I was boosting this information. I made that point, 'Yo we gonna make a song called 'Zombie Walk,' it don't matter how you walk.'"

During the brief interview, Desiigner also discussed how he ended up meeting Kanye West, the meaning behind "Panda," and why he doesn't eat Chinese food when in New York.
