Brooklyn-based quartet Iris Lune crafts tastefully grandiose alternative pop. Intermingling rock with electronic elements, the group’s debut single “Bring Me the Moon” manages an unusual feat, heavily characterized by theatricality without feeling like an outtake from a the former musical theater kid’s attempt at an “artist” project. Dramatic and dynamic, “Bring Me the Moon” harnesses singer Ella Joy Meir’s expressive voice and background in Middle Eastern and Israeli folk music. Pretty, rich in images, and unusual in its sonic palette, Iris Lune’s first step won’t be for all listener’s, but it intriguingly positions the groups collision of concepts and sounds.
