Rhymefest Is Turning Kanye West's Childhood Home Into Community Arts Center

"I'm excited to announce the purchase of Kanye's childhood home as a community arts incubator."

Rhymefest announced on Instagram today that he has purchased Kanye West's childhood home, with the plans of turning it into "a community arts incubator."

A longtime collaborator with West, Rhymefest is the Creative Director of Kanye's charitable Donda's House program—which was created to "provide access to premium arts instruction to youth." He explained that West's childhood home will be the location of the first of Donda's "Nationwide Lite-Houses." The space will hold "a state of the art recording studio, a curriculum space for Donda House, and southside music museum."

"We want to show bright spots in communities that've been divested from," he wrote. "We know more Lights exist here, they just need to be activated. Please click the link in my bio & Donate to Donda's House, support our efforts to support our youth."
