One of the revelations gleaned from our recent interview with Danny L Harle was that most of PC Music was, until recently, strangers. The group’s various artists found each other online, and it wasn’t until this year’s SXSW showcase that many of them met for the first time.

The exceptions were Harle and A. G. Cook. They had known each other in childhood, lost touch, and reconnected at school to form the PC foundation. The two perform together as Dux Content, producing music that is essentially an extension of their respective solo work.

But working with someone else will always result in an extra push, no matter how close the two tastes may be. So while Dux Content’s most recent “Snow Globe” is certainly a PC Music product, it is in many ways a more exciting and ambitious work than what either may have produced on their own. The rumbling arpeggios, all-the-way-out lyrics, and layered synths are classic PC, but the song is grander and more vibrant than some of their earlier, straight-ahead work.

We asked where PC Music could go from here, now that their first act is complete and the punchline has landed. “Snow Globe” may be the first answer.
