Kanye West Joined Drake at OVO Fest Last Night and Teased a Collaborative Album

Kanye West was on BBC Radio 1 yesterday talking about his desire to design for Ikea and the numbing effect of police violence, but last night he came out as the special guest at Drake’s OVO Fest in Toronto. West also appeared for an extended set at last year’s OVO Fest, and the two superstars were on stage together as recently as July 27, when West came out during Drake’s Summer Sixteen Tour stop in Chicago.

In Chicago, Kanye addressed the Taylor Swift situation, but last night in Toronto he teased the long-rumored collaborative album with Drake. Before starting “Father Stretch My Hands” Kanye asked the crowd, “Is y’all ready for this album?” Stopping the music, he clarified that he wasn’t talking about The Life of Pablo and asked the crowd the same question, this time pointing clearly at Drake.

Fans at OVO Fest also tweeted that Drake later confirmed the joint album, saying, “And what he was asking, was are you ready if we made an album.” If this collaborative album really does see the light of day, it’s going to be huge. See footage of Kanye teasing the crowd above.

Kanye also performed “Pop Style,” “Famous” and “Runaway,” while other special guests last night included Rihanna (for the second night in a row), Popcaan, and French Montana. Drake performed his Joe Budden-referencing “No Shopping” verse with French for the first time while Popcaan did “Only Man She Want,” Jamie XX collab “Good Times” and more.
