Beijing-based producer and visual artist Howie Lee is one of the most exciting talents coming out of China right now. With his chaotic, almost schizophrenic percussion and bizarre choices of sound, Howie makes no attempt to sound like any but himself. His music is often abrasive, stunning, and confusing all at once. As the founder of the Do Hits label and collective, Howie is doing a lot for Beijing's electronic music scene.

Having supported Plastician, Kode 9, and Daedalus among others, Howie is gearing up to release his most daring project yet with Homeless. Due for release this Friday (May 26), the EP explores his talents further with some of the craziest output he's crafted yet. It's an austere release for an austere world. Today we're premiering the second single from the EP, "Dizi," and it offers a brief, but exhilarating taste of what to expect from the full release.

Speaking about the track over email, Howie explained, "'Dizi' is trying to put together little elements that inspired me from all over the world, and you can hear all sorts of inspirations. From Middle Eastern rhythm, to Cambodian chanting, to almost baile funk inspired Chinese drums, to a out of tune country side style Suona solo, and it’s clubby too."
