Remember how strange it was when Arcade Fire announced the release date for Reflektor via Twitter? Well it looks like Death Grips just upped the ante a little bit by responding to a stranger on Twitter with not just one, but numerous important dates. The release date of their upcoming album The Powers That B/Jenny Death has been unclear for a while now, but according to the strange Twitter account that is very likely run by the band themselves, the album will be released on March 31, with pre-orders coming shortly before on March 17.

After leaving numerous clues as to the legitimacy of the account @bbpoltergiest earlier this year, the mysterious Twitter vanished for a bit only to return with a few screen grabs from Beck’s iconic “Loser” video. But today, it seems that Death Grips are back to fucking with us full time. The Twitter account frequently told us that they would be going on tour and that they’d never broken up, but we’ve never really had official confirmation from any verified sources.

That of course all changed when Death Grips shared a video of them practicing new material live on Facebook. So here’s the most exciting part: According to the tweet, a tour will be announced March 24 with tickets going on sale a few days later on March 27. So there we have it: Death Grips are back in the most typically obtuse and Death Grips way possible.

UPDATE: The tweet has since been deleted, but you can still view it below.

UPDATE 2: Looks like the first in the list of dates was legit, as Harvest’s website confirms the album will be released on vinyl March 17, and you can pre-order it in the US here.
