Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and singer Conner Youngblood continues to impress, putting out tracks that further showcase his versatility time and time again. “Diamonds,” while maintaining his own sense of sense of textural warmth, has a huge scale to it. Conner has hinted at such wide-ranging and mammoth heights before, but “Diamonds” is the first track of his to embrace it with reckless abandon.
Timeless as with all of Conner’s music, “Diamonds” evokes a hard to pinpoint nostalgia for a time that never really existed. Its simple but captivating lyrics and huge production result in yet another winner for Conner, making us all the more excited about what the future holds for him. It’s the little touches that make his music stand out, and “Diamonds” is full of lots of excellent little touches across a broad canvas.
