Pharrell has used his OTHERtone Beats 1 segment with Scott Vener to debut music in recent months, and last night’s show was no different. P shared a vintage N.E.R.D. cut called “Locked Away” featuring strong melodies, bubbling bass, and descending synth-guitar riffs. The audio is admittedly nothing new to longtime fans of the band, but the record had yet to see the light of day in CDQ form by way of an official release.
Tyler, the Creator was also present for the episode, sitting down to chat with one of his foremost heroes. Pharrell recounted a story he likes to tell about Michael Jackson in the process.
