Bruno Major has been releasing one song per month for about six months now, and more and more people are starting to pay attention. Working at his piano late at night at his home in Camden, North London, Bruno's timeless pop songwriting and intimate lyricism provides the backbone for all his releases.

Bruno's latest release is "Just The Same," which he explains as, "a song about being madly, unhealthily in love with somebody, no matter what." Surely a painfully relatable song for many people, the spare arrangement puts the focus on Bruno's voice, raw with emotion for the soaring chorus. "Love can be a dark emotion," he concludes.

Listen to "Just The Same" now and get to know Bruno Major with a short interview below. Check out the full collection of monthly releases at the bottom of the page.

Have you found it easy to write, record, and release music at this pace?

Having a constant deadline looming over my head has been full on, but I was always the kid who did his homework the night before, I work better under pressure. It has been a very positive feeling, to be forced to let go.

What kind of environment do you like to write and record in—do you do a lot of your creating at home?

I work at night, between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. I'll hunch over the rickety old piano in our kitchen, and only let myself move to the computer once the song is written.

How have the live shows been going and what was the original idea behind doing a residency?

The live shows have been beautiful. The idea was to create a night of high musicianship without snobbery, where I could showcase my new music as it was created month by month. Kansas Smitty’s is my favourite jazz club in London, so to share the special vibe there has made me very happy. It's been a party, a room full of love.

Who (or what) has been inspiring you creatively over the past six months?

I am always inspired by the things people say, my friends, my family, the people who pass on the street. I had a life changing experience taking DMT in August, the week before I released my first song. It seems to have re-calibrated my brain in the most wonderful way.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

The plan for 2017 is to keep creating, and stop thinking. I think thinking is a bad idea, most of the time.
