Ye Ali Links Up with Eric Bellinger for Bouncy Single “Big Body Benz”

In 1995, R. Kelly wrote a rather unconventional ode to women that only he could pull off with “You Remind Me of Something.” More than two decades later, the line “You remind me of my Jeep,” might get your smooth shot shutdown. Thankfully, Ye Ali is here to deliver somewhat of an updated version of that concept with his latest single “Big Body Benz.”

After a conversation about the R&B legend, Ye Ali and Eric Bellinger wound up creating their new collaboration. “We were discussing R. Kelly and once I heard the beat I said, "You remind me of my Jeep," Ye Ali explains. “But instead of saying that, we said "Big Body Benz." The result is an instantly catchy, and more flattering single layered over bouncy production by Bizness Boi and Th3ory. The balance of both Ali and Bellinger's voices combined with a heavy bassline create an alluring contrast.

Last summer, Ye Ali delivered two full-length projects for his listeners with Private Suite and TrapHouseJodeci in August. As summer rapidly approaches, the Indiana-native and now Los Angeles-based singer/rapper is ready to release more new music. “Big Body Benz” gives listeners a preview of what they can expect to hear on his forthcoming Passion & Patience EP that’s due out later this month.
