Caribou has been very busy lately with a long list of tour dates but thankfully there was enough down time to release the video for “Can’t Do Without You.” Similar to the song, the visuals build up quite slowly. The video is described as an “emotional roller coaster.”
As for the actual meaning of the video, it seems like that is up for your own interpretation. At least for now. A little boy can be seen going through a mix of emotions as he chases after a beautifully vivid creature that soon vanishes before he can catch it.
It seems the creature may be floating its away across the globe soon since Caribou is actually having a contest to deliver that creature to a lucky winner anywhere around the world. You can find out more information about the contest here.
