Shabazz Palaces are currently preparing for the release of their forthcoming album Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star on July 14 via Sub Pop. Ahead of album's release, the group returns today to share their latest single "Since C.A.Y.A." Over time, Shabazz Palaces have perfected fusing hip-hop with eclectic and transformative production. The results create an expansive sound that make it difficult to fit into just one category.
The news single, "Since C.A.Y.A." merges multiple influences together for a futuristic result. Opening up with drums fitting for a tribal ceremony, building up to bass licks by Thundercat, and additional effects that sounds intergalactic, Shabazz Palaces sound as if they've returned to visit us from the future.
