Yesterday Pharrell took over iHeartRadio’s Twitter account for a while to answer some questions from fans. Like most takeovers, the majority of the tweets being sent to Pharrell were mostly statements of admiration than actual questions. However, thankful one fan took this time to ask one important question many of us are dying to know: “Are you going to make another N.E.R.D. album ????” To which, Pharrell simply answered, “Of course!”
It’s far too early to consider this an official announcement, but this does mean that’s there’s hope. Last year, N.E.R.D. fulfilled Tyler, the Creator’s dream of performing live during his Camp Flog Gnaw carnival. And more recently, Pharrell shared an unreleased N.E.R.D. song from 2008 during his Beats 1 show on Apple Music. Though the track is anything new to dedicated fans, it still keeps the hope alive that the guys really have been reflecting on old music and working on new N.E.R.D. material again. Let’s just hope a more official announcement comes sooner than later, because the people are waiting.
