Pro Era’s Kirk Knight is gearing up to release his first solo project Late Knight Special on October 30. Ahead of its release, Kirk shares a new single from the project, “Dead Friends,” featuring Noname Gyspy and Thundercat. Unlike his previous single “Knight Time,” this new track is a bit more relaxed. Kirk slows things down as he reflects on better times with friend who’ve passed.
On his self-produced new single, Kirk Knight effortlessly transitions from rapping to singing a sweet chorus. Within the song, Kirk explains he often thinks of the friends who left too soon. Chicago’s own Noname Gypsy contributes her own passionate verse which is followed by a guitar solo from Thundercat that emphasizes the pain expressed on the track. Though a bit somber, “Dead Friends” also comes off as track about being thankful for each day we have on this earth.
